Apple Tarte Tatin

How to make

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Peel and chop your apples in half then place aside.
  3. In an oven-safe frying pan, place the sugar into it and set on medium to low heat.
  4. Once the sugar granules have dissolved, add in the butter and mix vigorously.
  5. Once butter and sugar have emulsified, add in sea salt and mix.
  6. Place the apples into the caramel.
  7. Cover the top with a puff pastry round and tuck the edges into the apples.
  8. Poke with a fork and place into the oven for 40-50 minutes or until the top of the pastry is light and golden.
