Milk & More's 2020 Sustainability Achievements

Take a look at the bottles below to see Milk & More’s sustainable statistics for 2020

We know that small changes make a world of difference, which is why we love to provide as many eco-friendly shopping solutions as possible to help our communities easily reduce their environmental impact while enjoying top quality goods.

One of our core passions is our zero waste range, at the heart of which is our iconic glass milk bottles which are reused on average 25 times before being recycled. Thanks to partnerships with innovative suppliers, in 2020 we were able to bring you even more sweet fruit juices bottled in reusable glass, as well as some innovative new household products. As a result, by the end of the year, an amazing 79% of our sales were products packaged with zero waste, and our customers saved 1,631 tonnes of plastic waste simply by making the switch to our glass-bottled milk and juices.

For the rest of our packaging, we're always working towards a plastic-free future with our like-minded suppliers. As such, 96.5% of products sold in 2020 came in packaging that fits into the circular economy, meaning it's fully reusable, recyclable or compostable.

Our organic fruit and veg is one of the most sustainable ways to get your five a day, all packaged with no pointless plastic, using cotton netting, paper bags and cardboard boxes wherever possible. In 2020, our customers were able to save an incredible 4 tonnes of plastic by choosing our fruit and vegetables over supermarket varieties.

Of course, these impressive goods wouldn't reach your doorstep without our famous milk floats. With 500 eco-friendly electric vans, Milk & More has one of the UK's largest electric fleets. This drastically cuts down on fossil fuel emissions, and in 2020 alone, our fleet saved 3.8 tonnes of CO2 and 3.4 million litres of diesel.

If you’re looking to cut down on unrecyclable packaging this year, be sure to check out our plastic alternatives range for all manner of goods you might not know could be plastic-free, with yoghurts, cereals, and plenty more. Then there's our crowning glory - the zero-waste selection. All of these glass bottles are collected by your milkman to be reused as many times as possible before being recycled. These are simple swaps with a major impact.
