Sweet Honey and Orange Roasted Gammon

Orange and gammon, the slightly unlikely match made in heaven. This simple but tasty recipe is wonderful for entertaining. The fruitiness and slight tang from the orange juice and marmalade combined the sweetness of the honey makes a fantastic glaze for the salty gammon.

What you'll need

  • 1tbsp whole cloves
  • 1 sliced orange
  • 150ml orange juice
  • 2kg Maynard’s Sweet Cured Gammon Joint
  • 175g honey
  • 3tbsps marmalade

How to make

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Place the gammon in a roasting tin and lightly score in a crosshatch pattern.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the orange juice, marmalade and honey. Spoon the mixture evenly over ham and rub into the gammon.
  4. Slice oranges and scatter over top of the gammon joint. Stud them in place with cloves in the centre of each orange slice.
  5. Place a sheet of tin foil over the ham to maintain moisture during cooking.
  6. Bake ham for 1 hour, basting occasionally.
