Paying Our Farmers Fairly

Inflation has cast a shadow across all aspects of life over recent months, and the dairy industry has sadly been dealt an unfair blow. You will have noticed our prices have increased, and we want to tell you why.

We’re all too familiar with the unwelcome impact inflation has been having on our pockets lately, and there’s a price to pay when you partner up with world-class farmers and suppliers.

Ultimately, the farmers (or maybe their cows) are the ones to thank for the fresh milk on our doorsteps, and treating them fairly will always be Milk & More’s top priority. We value the standard of treatment the farmers give their herds and their land, and we could never underpay those who provide the very foundation of Milk & More’s historic service.

Sadly, inflation’s seen the cost of the farmers’ work increase rapidly, from renewable energy (199% increase), diesel (61% increase) and glass, but these are things we vow to never compromise on. In the dairy industry, our main cost drivers have far exceeded the average 9% inflation rate, with the cost of milk increasing by the highest level in over 40 years.

To make sure our farmers continue to receive the compensation they deserve for their stellar job, we’ve increased our prices to them by 62% in the last year and 53% since the beginning of this year.

We’ve always remained determined to pay our dairy farmers fairly whatever the cost. No matter how our range grows, we’d never do without them. In July 2021, they were paid 28p per litre, and to keep up with inflation, they're now paid 45.5p per litre.

We can only thank you for continuing to support the best British farmers around, and hope you continue to enjoy their dairy goodness as much as we do.
